Tramp has long been recognised as Mayfair’s most boisterous party venue; yet, for its forthcoming endeavour, the private members’ nightclub is adopting a markedly different approach. In spring 2026, proprietor Luca Maggiora will inaugurate a health club named Tramp Health in Grosvenor Square, located near the original establishment on Jermyn Street.

Tramp Heath Will Commence Subsequent Spring

Maggiora stated on Instagram: 'Today is significant for both myself and Tramp, as a member club and as a brand.' This signifies the inception of an extraordinary wellbeing and wellness club dedicated to mindful living, set to launch in Spring 2026 at Mayfair's most esteemed location. @tramphealth.

He stated, "I have numerous individuals to express gratitude towards, but foremost, I wish to thank Qatari Diar for endorsing my vision and providing me with one of the finest locations I could have desired in London."

The 16,000 sq ft venue is anticipated to be connected to the recently inaugurated Chancery Rosewood hotel. The Tramp Health Instagram characterises the new project as a venue for assessment, nourishment, movement, restoration, strengthening, and fostering a sense of belonging. Beyond that, we possess limited information on expectations; but, if its sister venue serves as an indicator, it will undoubtedly be opulent.

Chronicle of Tramp

Tramp, established in 1969 by partners Johnny Gold, Oscar Lerman, and Bill Ofner, is situated on Jermyn Street. It swiftly drew the affluent and renowned, owing to Lerman's intimate association with Jackie Collins. During its peak, the venue hosted numerous prominent figures, including Mick Jagger, Princess Margaret, Joan Collins, and Rod Stewart. The venue was the backdrop for numerous outrageous anecdotes: Keith Moon was ejected for swinging from the chandeliers, George Best attempted to instigate a confrontation with Michael Caine, and Jack Nicholson purportedly proceeded directly from the club to Pinewood Studios to film The Shining.

In the 1990s, it served as a prominent venue for celebrities, organising events for figures such as Naomi Campbell and drawing the attention of Prince Harry and Prince William.

However, in 2023, Maggiora perceived a decline in its lustre and intervened to restore Tramp to its previous splendour. He shuttered the club for two years, investing £12 million in renovations and implementing significant alterations. “I dismissed all prior members, reimbursed them, suspended club operations for over a year, renovated the facilities, and established several definitive principles,” Maggiora stated in an interview with Forbes. The primary consideration was that it would no longer merely function as a nightclub. Since its reopening, we operate daily from noon until late at night. Nevertheless, he emphasised his diligence in maintaining the enjoyable essence for which Tramp was famous.

The Trend of Wellness Membership Clubs

The emergence of Tramp Health is unsurprising, as wellness membership clubs are currently in vogue, especially in London. This September, The Sloane Club in Chelsea will relaunch its wellness facility, with a state-of-the-art gym, an infrared sauna, and opulent spa-like changing rooms. Soho House has lately revealed intentions to establish health clubs at its locations, emphasising 'holistic wellbeing' through exercise programs and contemporary therapies such as IV drips and ice baths.

Earlier this year, the Maybourne group, which operates hotels like as Claridge’s and The Connaught, inaugurated SURENNE at The Emory in Knightsbridge. This modern enterprise emphasises longevity, featuring a café created by nutritionist Rosemary Ferguson and a cutting-edge gym.

Tramp Health is expected to offer opulent health and exercise amenities, with membership fees anticipated to be substantial (members at Tramp pay £2,000 annually).
