Saint Laurent has evolved beyond merely designing apparel; it now serves as a tastemaker, film producer, and, more recently, a provider of gastronomic experiences. Building on the success of their 2022 collaboration, design director Anthony Vaccarello and Sushi Park’s founding chef Peter Park have partnered to establish a novel immersive shopping and gastronomic experience in Paris.

This collaboration marks Sushi Park's inaugural permanent restaurant outside its flagship location in Los Angeles, favored by celebrities such as Justin Bieber, the Kardashians, and Dua Lipa. The gastronomic establishment will inaugurate on February 21 within the freshly refurbished Saint Laurent RIVE DROITE boutique, situated in the premium shopping district of Paris’s first arrondissement, few steps from the Tuileries and Place Vendôme. In February, as part of the continuous refurbishment of the brand's historical locations, Saint Laurent inaugurated a bookstore and gallery, BABYLONE, in the seventh arrondissement, personally curated by Vaccarello.

The luxury brand commemorated the introduction of the relationship by releasing a short film on Instagram this past weekend. The film, helmed by Pierre-Ange Carlotti, features well-known personalities and ambassadors of the brand, such as Lourdes Leon, Saint Levant, Dominic Sessa, among others. The brief film examines the meticulously designed interiors of the new venue, including dark sculptural furnishings and a collection of ceramics exclusively created by Professor Kim.

This film was produced by Saint Laurent Productions, established in 2023, which has featured directors like David Cronenberg, Nadia Lee Cohen, and Paolo Sorrentino, and notably co-produced Jacques Audiard's Oscar-nominated film Emilia Perez.

The Sushi Park cooperation and BABYLONE are components of the houses' broader initiatives to broaden the shopping experience. The brand is not the inaugural entity to venture into the realms of gastronomy and literature. Comparable initiatives encompass Jacquemus's partnerships with the renowned Parisian establishment Caviar Kaspia, Gucci's Michelin-starred Osteria da Massimo Bottura in Florence, Bottega Veneta's curated Fanzines, and Miu Miu's continuous film anthology Women's Tales. Each initiative exemplifies luxury conglomerates' endeavors to engage in world-building, while numerous consumers ponder the future of the physical shopping experience.

Sushi Park Paris at RIVE DROITE will commence operations on February 21, open from Tuesday to Saturday. Reservations can be made via telephone, email, or online at Sushi Park Paris.
