Simone Ashley has experienced a tumultuous few years. Following her breakout performance as Kate Sharma in the second season of Bridgerton in 2022, the actress's career has surged dramatically.

In March, Ashley co-starred with Hero Fiennes Tiffin in the romantic comedy Picture This, portraying a struggling photographer attempting to reconcile her job with her amorous endeavors. She is now transitioning—pun intended—as she readies for the much awaited release of F1, a sports action film centered on two Formula 1 drivers, scheduled for this summer.
Despite her hectic schedule, Ashley consistently appears on every red carpet looking impeccable. This year's Cannes Film Festival was consistent with previous editions. She appeared adorned in a white Vivienne Westwood gown for the premiere of The Mastermind. During the festival, Ashley served as a spokeswoman for L’Oréal Paris’s Lights on Women’s Worth Awards, marking her second year as an ambassador for the initiative. ELLE briefly interviewed Ashley following her red carpet appearances to discuss skincare, Cannes glamour, and her preferred beauty practices.

What is your present skincare and beauty regimen?
I exfoliate many times weekly, maintain hydration, consume ample water, apply moisturizer, and endeavor to minimize stress.
What is your preferred beauty look when you are not on set?
In fact, I do not exert significant effort during my leisure time. I am not inclined to engage. I have just donned my sunglasses.
Do you possess any beauty practices that you consider indispensable?
Exfoliation. That is OK to me, however. I believe that all experiences are personal and subjective for individuals. For me, it is exfoliation and rest.
What was the experience of preparing for Cannes?
I am fortunate to have my staff present with me. My makeup artist, Alex Babsky, consistently instills a profound sense of confidence in me. Stephane [Lancien], who has been doing my hair, is just exceptional.
You are featured in the forthcoming F1 film. What was the filming experience like?
That was astonishing. I possess a minor role, nevertheless I am appreciative of my involvement in that film. I had the opportunity to attend numerous Grands Prix. I doubt I will ever engage in such an activity again.
As a woman of color in the film industry, what is your experience collaborating with L’Oréal and their Lights on Women’s Worth Awards? What is the significance and impact of programs like this?
It is a privilege. I experience a profound sense of pride. During the awards banquet, Viola Davis delivered a speech. I am exceedingly appreciative that she serves as an advocate for this brand. While I draw inspiration from many, witnessing Viola made me feel acknowledged and empowered to achieve my potential.
