Regardless of opinion, "dirty soda" – soft beverages infused with sweet cream — prevailed in our social media feeds last year. If you have not yet been inclined to experiment with this viral trend, Sonic's sweet-and-citrusy variant may alter your perspective.

Sonic Drive-In is commencing summer with an unconventional variation of a seasonal classic: Sweet-Topped Lemonades. The newly introduced beverage is said to provide the full tartness of Sonic's lemonade formula, complemented by a substantial layer of sweet cool foam, as per the company's release today.

Three flavors (Classic Lemonade, Strawberry Lemonade, and Blueberry Lavender Lemonade) will be introduced to the Sonic menus next month. This is not Sonic's inaugural foray into creamy, citrus beverages; Lemonade Cream Coolers, which blend the traditional drink with soft serve swirls, were established as a permanent menu item last summer. Their most recent launch, however, is somewhat less extravagant.

Are you eager to acquire the latest Sweet-Topped Lemonades? Customers may place orders at any drive-thru beginning June 2, while informed app members will have early access on May 27.

Mackenzie Gibson, vice president of culinary and menu innovation at Sonic, states to Food & Wine, "At Sonic, we excel in bold flavors, which encompasses reinterpreting classic dishes." “While other brands are merely entering the lemonade market, we have been refining it for years.” Sweet Topped Lemonades offer our guests an opportunity to personalize their beverage, allowing for a unique experience with each sip.

The assortment embodies "main character energy," as Sonic states in today's press release — a significant expectation for a lemonade, however the company asserts that a prominent collaboration can substantiate this assertion. Three prominent authors, Christina Lauren, Abby Jimenez, and Ashley Poston, are partnering with Sonic to introduce the lemonade collection.

“I compose narratives that evoke laughter, tears, and perhaps a renewed belief in love — Sweet Topped Lemonades may elicit similar emotions,” Jimenez, author of Say You’ll Remember Me, asserts in the announcement.

The Oklahoma City-based restaurant is concurrently reiterating its dedication to literacy via its Limeades for Learning project. It is collaborating with First Book, a nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C., that supplies educational resources for children of diverse backgrounds. The organization partners with governmental and corporate sponsors to pinpoint areas of need and efficiently assist underrepresented populations, as stated in the mission statement.

Sonic allocates a percentage of all beverage, slush, blast, and milkshake sales to education via the Sonic Foundation and Limeades for Learning initiative. The corporation claims to have provided over $30 million to public education in the past 16 years.

A delightful, refreshing beverage that is both palatable and beneficial. You need not repeat yourself.
