The peach season has returned at Chick-fil-A. Beginning June 9, the chain will reintroduce its Peach Milkshake and launch a new product: the Peach Frosted Lemonade.

Initially launched in 2009, the Peach Milkshake has established itself as a quintessential summer flavor for numerous Chick-fil-A enthusiasts, particularly those who recall ordering one during high school lunch breaks.

This year signifies the 16th reintroduction of the Peach Milkshake, a seasonal staple that evokes nostalgia with its combination of Chick-fil-A’s Icedream dessert and peaches, topped with whipped cream and a cherry. It was initially developed by culinary lead Angela Canada, drawing inspiration from her grandmother's homemade peach ice cream.

Peach season is back at Chick-fil-A. Starting June 9, the chain will bring back its Peach Milkshake and introduce a new offering: the Peach Frosted Lemonade.

First introduced in 2009, the Peach Milkshake has been around long enough to count as a formative summer flavor for many Chick-fil-A fans — especially those who remember ordering one on a high school lunch break.

This year marks the 16th return of the Peach Milkshake, a summertime regular that leans into nostalgia with its blend of Chick-fil-A’s Icedream dessert and peaches, finished with whipped cream and a cherry. It was first created by culinary lead Angela Canada and was inspired by her grandmother’s homemade peach ice cream.

The newcomer, Peach Frosted Lemonade, introduces a tangy dimension to the well-known flavor. Composed of Chick-fil-A’s signature lemonade (or its diet variant), peaches, and Icedream, it is crafted to satisfy the sweet-and-sour summer need.

“The Peach Milkshake evokes a distinct sense of the onset of summer,” stated Allison Duncan, Chick-fil-A’s director of menu and packaging. She states that the new product provides fans with an alternative method to savor a flavor they anticipate during this season.

Chick-fil-A recommends complementing the peach beverages with Chick-n-Strips and a selection of sauces of your choice. The seven options — Polynesian, Honey Mustard, Garden Herb Ranch, Chick-fil-A Sauce, Barbeque, Zesty Buffalo, and Sweet & Spicy Sriracha — encompass a range from sweet to smoky to tangy. Enthusiasts frequently amalgamate sauces to devise personalized blends, enhancing the dining experience: consider Ranch combined with Sriracha or Polynesian sauce intensified with Barbecue Sauce.

The peach is not a novel summer flavor, however its enduring popularity indicates more than mere trend cycles. The resurgence of the peach milkshake may be a contemporary tradition, although the fruit's association with the South extends back centuries. The New Georgia Encyclopedia states that Franciscan monks introduced peaches to Georgia's coast in 1571, and by the 1700s, Cherokee groups were producing them, establishing peach as one of the oldest cultivated flavors in the region.

The peach-and-cream combination is ideally suited for warm weather and roadside breaks, from state fair soft serves to diner shake specials. Incorporating lemonade aligns it with contemporary taste combinations popular in the beverage industry, where citrus harmonizes with creamy or fruit-forward foundations for equilibrium.

The two peach beverages are offered throughout the summer "while supplies last" at select locations. The Pineapple Dragonfruit beverages, initially introduced for spring, will be available until August 16 for those who prefer tropical drinks over stone fruit.
