A new restaurant that encapsulates Geneva's heritage of watchmaking and passion for gourmet cuisine has recently opened.

Created by Michelin-starred chef Dominique Gauthier and François-Paul Journe, the founder and master watchmaker of the premium watch brand F.P. Journe.
Situated on the prestigious Rue du Rhône, “F.P.Journe Le Restaurant” has replaced the historically significant brasserie, La Bavaria. “La Bavaria” initially opened in 1912, but it was not until 1942 that it unveiled its distinctive interiors characterized by dark oak paneling and ceilings adorned with geometrically patterned formwork. The new restaurant, while preserving the appealing design of its predecessor, underwent four years of rehabilitation to update the deteriorating architectural framework of the property.
Journe has established a cohesive horological identity throughout the establishment, featuring a 17th-century astronomical clock at the restaurant's center, cutlery embellished with watchmaking motifs, posters of technical drawings on the walls, and tables named after renowned watchmakers. Additionally, the three tasting menus are named after renowned F. P. Journe watch models.

The cuisine, curated by Dominique Gauthier, featured his distinctive Mediterranean flair, enhanced with vibrant citrus and spice influences drawn from his trips in Thailand. Enthusiasts of the chef will undoubtedly recognize his signature dishes on the menu, such scampis in kadaïf and hare ravioli with truffles.
