Jimmy Kimmel Is Hosting A Summer Cookout In His Backyard, And You Are Invited

In May, Airbnb announced its Summer Release, emphasizing the next phase for the homesharing behemoth. Airbnb announces its expansion beyond accommodations with a thoroughly revamped Experiences section, which purportedly enables guests to "explore a city with the locals who know it best." This encompasses many new Airbnb Original Experiences, characterized as "extraordinary experiences led by the world's most intriguing individuals." One such encounter entails barbecuing with Jimmy Kimmel and acquaintances.

"I enjoy socializing with others." Kimmel expressed in an exclusive interview with Food & Wine that he enjoys meeting individuals he has not encountered previously, which influenced his decision to organize a dinner for a group of strangers.

Although Kimmel may not be the initial individual that comes to mind for hosting a culinary experience, he asserts that when Airbnb inquired about the type of experience he would like to host, his response was immediate. "I expressed my fondness for cooking." I enjoy inviting my chef friends to prepare meals. I enjoy having a pleasant lunch.

This experience features chefs Adam Perry Lang, renowned for his wood-fire barbecuing, and Chris Bianco, a James Beard Award-winning chef acclaimed for his pizza masterpieces.

Kimmel stated, "Chris and Adam are among my closest friends and exceptionally skilled chefs," noting that their friendship was forged via exquisite dining experiences. Adam was as a guest on our program several years prior. He barbecued a pig in our parking area. Naturally, we developed romantic feelings for each other.

Kimmel mentioned that he had "read about a pizzeria in Phoenix that was reputed to serve the finest pizza in the United States." I found that difficult to accept. Upon my subsequent visit to Phoenix, I attended and became a believer,” he recounted. Chris and I have developed a strong friendship and frequently spend time together. This is merely another evening for us, indeed.

Kimmel indicated that attendees can anticipate barbecue and pizza, but emphasized that there will not be a predetermined menu. “Whatever these individuals procure at the farmers market will likely be served at the dinner table that evening.”

Himself underscored that both chefs share a fervent commitment to local sourcing, as does himself. I enjoy visiting the farmers market in Los Angeles, engaging with the merchants, and allowing them to direct me to the finest products.

Guests will have the opportunity to engage directly with the chefs, acquiring new grilling skills to take home as a memorable keepsake. Kimmel acknowledged his culinary proficiency but underscored that the chefs are the focal point of this event.

Nonetheless, that is not the sole insight from the Airbnb-hosted event. Guests will receive a Grill Master's Gift Kit and the opportunity to snap numerous personal photographs with Kimmel for social media bragging rights.

Interested visitors must be prepared to click "book" on May 22 at airbnb.com/eatwithjimmy, as participation is contingent upon a first-come, first-served basis. Four distinct bookings will be offered for this experience on July 1 and July 2, allowing a total of 40 participants, each permitted to bring one guest. Tickets for the event are available for $50 each, with all funds directed to Children's Hospital L.A., which Kimmel stated is "a very important place to me and to my wife because they saved my son's life." Consequently, they frequently come to mind during humanitarian initiatives.
