Following the launch of its expansive 3XL sneaker campaign last week, Balenciaga has introduced another promotional initiative featuring its newly-released Bel Air bag.

The Demna-led firm has enlisted ambassadors Michelle Yeoh and Isabelle Huppert, together with actress Naomi Watts, to showcase the signature accessory in a series of studio photographs by Nadav Kander. Perched on unadorned chairs, each star presents a “character study” adorned in the brand’s somber ready-to-wear garments: trompe-l’oeil pantashoes, striking evening gowns, and sleek knife pumps. The concept is notably derived from “The Characters Campaign” that Balenciaga launched for their acclaimed Rodeo bag last month, featuring Watts and Huppert with ambassador Kim Kardashian.

The bag is called after the illustrious Los Angeles neighborhood, consistent with the Rodeo bag, which is named after the prestigious shopping locale in the Southern California city. The design has a logo-embossed metal twist lock that unites two slender belts across its broad form, which includes one primary open compartment and other flap pockets. The bag features a matte translucent exterior, crafted from naturally smooth leather with a plush Nappa inner. It is equally opulent as its namesake region.
