Miley Cyrus is the new representative for Maison Margiela’s FW25 campaign, showcasing her in a minimalist and artistic manner.

Miley Cyrus is an artist that was nurtured in the public spotlight and underwent a complete transformation on her own terms. The performer initially debuted as Disney's Hannah Montana, subsequently deconstructing her identity throughout the years to develop her own artistic legacy. Maison Margiela announced, “The artist is portrayed in a novel perspective, minimalist and deeply engaged with the fundamental codes and archetypal expressions of the Maison,” in an Instagram post revealing the campaign. The world has witnessed the various facets of the singer and actress; yet, what distinguishes her current era, Something Beautiful, is the perception that the artist has refined her fundamental identity, evident in the album’s sophisticated fashion style and artistic direction. The sophisticated yet audacious expression markedly contrasts with maximalist periods such as Bangerz (2013) and Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz (2015), rendering this an opportune moment for the artist to collaborate with a brand like Margiela.

The ad appears to be a continuation of Something Beautiful, showcasing Miley in striking silhouettes, with items from Maison Margiela’s Avant-Première Collection. Miley is presented in a dimly lit setting with smokey eyes, adorned in a deconstructed pea coat, while in another depiction, the artist appears entirely nude, embellished with white paint strokes reminiscent of the label's Tabi boots. Throughout the campaign, Miley showcases various Margiela leather handbags in black and brown, adorned with the distinctive white paint strokes.
