This Fall, two of Anthony Bourdain's books are being re-released in special editions.

Bloomsbury Publishing
Bloomsbury Publishing

The 20th anniversary edition of the late chef, host, and author’s influential Les Halles Cookbook: Strategies, Recipes, and Techniques of Classic Bistro Cooking will be released, featuring a new foreword by fellow chef, author, and Prune founder Gabrielle Hamilton. The cookbook contains straightforward instructions for creating traditional French bistro meals, including Bourdain’s roasted veal short ribs, steak frites, escargots aux noix, and foie gras au pruneaux.

Fans will also see the reemergence of Bourdain’s true crime masterpiece, Typhoid Mary: An Urban Historical, which chronicles the narrative of family chef Mary Mallon as she disseminated a disease throughout New York City kitchens for years. The book, described as a blend of history, true crime, and an examination of a chef's life, reveals the appalling circumstances in New York's kitchens around 1900 that facilitated the lethal transmission of typhoid over a decade, as articulated in a release about "Typhoid Mary."

Anthony Bourdain’s Les Halles Cookbook: Strategies, Recipes, and Techniques of Classic Bistro Cooking and Typhoid Mary: An Urban Historical are scheduled for release on October 15, with pre-orders accessible through Bloomsbury.
