Following the co-founding of Peckham's Frank's Café and The Camberwell Arms, restaurateur James Dye sought a new endeavor.

This drive to incessantly investigate the convergence of design, cuisine, and beverages prompted him to establish Bambi, a novel wine bar and restaurant that prioritizes music.

Bambi, situated in London Fields, is named after Dye's grandmother and will be led by chef Henry Freestone, who is also his childhood closest friend. Eats embody Freestone’s philosophy of “casual, enjoyable cuisine” and utilize locally sourced ingredients.

Menu items feature cauliflower cheese arancini, smoked mackerel pâté with pickled cucumbers, chicken parm ciabatta with vodka marinara, among others. The dessert selection includes Dedham Vale rump with lemon and confit garlic, a dark chocolate and ginger profiterole, and an apple crumble sundae.

The facility will be accessible for coffee and deli sandwiches during the day. In the evening, it will function as a wine bar and full-service restaurant; however, when dinner service concludes, Bambi will be converted into an impromptu musical event, including a lineup of resident DJs. The area includes a bespoke wall of vinyl records and a vintage high-fidelity audio system. Charlie Dark, a member of Attica Blues, will meticulously curate the record collection, using his extensive experience as a DJ and musician.

The kitchen operates daily, although the wine bar and full restaurant are open exclusively from Wednesday to Sunday. Individuals enthusiastic about visiting Bambi need not wait much longer, as the establishment will commence operations this Friday, October 6.
