Glenfiddich is auctioning a rare 1985 cask bottling directly from the distillery, with 150 personalized bottles.

The cask bottling encompasses a VIP distillery tour and an overnight accommodation at one of the William Grant & Sons residences on the estate, with an estimated value of $750,000 USD to $1,200,000 USD. The parcel is presented in a novel sealed bid auction, a first for Glenfiddich and BlockBar.

The 39-year-old Glenfiddich 1985 is a distinctive expression exclusively available to purchasers. It was placed in a cask in January 1985 after 16 years in American oak, in December 2001. Subsequently, it was placed in an Oloroso sherry-seasoned European oak cask, yielding an extraordinary beverage characterized by a unique mahogany color and a profoundly complex flavor profile.
The whisky features layers of fruit, accented by robust oak, brown sugar sweetness, a hint of mild spice, a thick mouthfeel, and a mouth-coating oiliness in the finish.
The Glenfiddich 1985 cask bottling is currently accessible through a sealed auction on the official BlockBar website, which will conclude on July 24 at 10 a.m.
