The Irish whiskey firm Redbreast has recently unveiled its newest offering: the Redbreast 18-Year-Old.

The drink, now a permanent addition to the brand, has been designed to provide a distinctive variation on the traditional Redbreast style. The beverage has garnered numerous accolades previously, including from The Irish Whiskey Masters, Beverage Testing Institute, International Spirits Challenge, and International Wine & Spirit Competition. This new 18-year-old version of its whiskey aims to follow a similar trajectory.
Essential elements of the beverage comprise the utilization of butts and ex-bourbon barrels, with the whiskey featuring vanilla sweetness, toasted wood, and dried fruits; Redbreast asserts that the tasting experience is further enhanced by the presence of blackcurrant and raspberry overtones.
Regarding the debut, Master Blender David McCabe states: “This new addition to the Redbreast core range elegantly connects our older and younger offerings.” We aimed to unveil a novel flavor profile for the Redbreast permanent range while maintaining a distinctly Redbreast stylistic essence. By utilizing cream sherry casks, we have produced a whiskey that features a robust profile of dark chocolate, blackcurrants, and hazelnuts. This phrase not only pays tribute to our heritage but also demonstrates our dedication to innovation in Irish whiskey production.
The Redbreast 18 Year Old will be accessible starting September 12 through the brand’s official website.
