The Macallan is commemorating its 200th anniversary with one of its priciest whiskies to date. The Scotch distillery has introduced TIME : SPACE, a $190,000 USD whisky elegantly encased in a dual chamber bottle.

Originating in 1940, one chamber contains whisky that has been aged for more than eighty years and was bottled this year. It features notes of burnt pineapple, baked peaches, crystallized ginger, aniseed, blackberry jam, woodsmoke, resin, and caramelized sugar.

In the adjacent chamber resides a 2018 whisky, symbolizing the distillery's future, characterized by notes of golden sultanas, baked apples, lemon, and lime. Both were aged over the years in sherry-seasoned oak barrels.

The vessel comprises two red chambers: the outer chamber is a ring-shaped decanter storing the 1940 whisky, while the inner chamber is a removable decanter holding the 2018 whisky. Encircling the chambers is an oak sculpture adorned with spikes that evoke nature's defense.
