Although Urusai is situated in Ibiza, the vibrant new restaurant draws inspiration from Japanese cuisine to shape its innovative menu.

Opening this June, the tapas bar features a typical izakaya-style tasting menu, comprising an assortment of foods presented as a prix fixe selection.

The restaurant is located within El Silencio, the Ibiza branch of the renowned Parisian nightclub, and was constructed under the artistic guidance of Olivier Leone. Although official images of the facility have not yet been disclosed, the venue will showcase architecture influenced by brutalism, Ibiza's cultural elements, and Japanese kissaten, a style of coffee shop.

Regarding the food, El Silencio engaged two chefs from Paris to combine their innovative culinary styles: Yuji Mikuriya of the fine dining establishment Ojii and Romain Littière of the izakaya Onii-San. The outcome is a fusion menu of Iberian and Japanese cuisine that prominently features seafood, appropriate considering the restaurant's proximity to Cala Moli beach.

The extensive menu features red shrimp carpaccio with shiso oil, sushi adorned with caviar, and a dish that amalgamates crispy rice, dashi, and caramel bisque. Onii-San's renowned sandwiches are shown, accompanied by soba with sea urchin and tempura made from local veggies. Flavors encompass a diverse array of tastes and textures, including miso, fermented honey, black garlic, and wasabi.

Arnaud Frisch, the founder of Silencio, established the original club in Paris two decades ago in collaboration with David Lynch. He previously informed Hypebeast that with all his endeavors, he aims to “unite individuals who value culture” and has recently inaugurated a Silencio club in New York.
