The Car Key ecosystem of Apple is about to incorporate a significant new luxury brand, as backend code indicates that certain Cadillac cars are being readied for digital key compatibility with iPhone and Apple Watch. This action situates Cadillac firmly within Apple's daily hardware routine.

The connection enables drivers to lock, unlock, and start compatible Cadillacs using an iPhone or Apple Watch via NFC and associated wireless technology, with the key stored in the Apple Wallet application. It transforms the handset into an integral component of the in-car experience rather than merely a dashboard accessory. This expansion follows Apple's WWDC 2025 announcement that 13 new automakers would "soon" join Car Key, including Cadillac, Acura, Porsche, GMC, Chevrolet, Rivian, and others.
