Apple has officially introduced CarPlay Ultra, its next-generation in-vehicle experience, commencing with new Aston Martin vehicle orders in the United States and Canada. CarPlay Ultra is engineered to provide a cohesive integration of iPhone capabilities and vehicular management, including all displays within the vehicle—from the infotainment screen to the instrument cluster—resulting in a wholly immersive and customized driving experience.

CarPlay Ultra surpasses conventional CarPlay by providing real-time data such as speed, tire pressure, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) features immediately within the gauge cluster. Operators can manage vehicular systems, including climate control and audio, through tactile interfaces, physical buttons, or Siri. iPhone-powered widgets seamlessly integrate with the car's display, providing easily accessible information.

Aston Martin is the inaugural automaker to provide CarPlay Ultra, with CEO Adrian Hallmark describing it as a “clear example” of the brand’s dedication to premium, high-performance user experiences. The system embodies the unique design language of each manufacturer and enables owners to customize themes, colors, and wallpapers further.

CarPlay Ultra is compatible with iPhone 12 or newer operating on iOS 18.5 or above. Although it is already offered in Aston Martin's U.S. and Canadian lines, a global deployment is anticipated within the forthcoming year. Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis have pledged their support for the platform.
