Sony Honda Mobility Inc. (SHM), the joint company established by Sony Group Corporation and Honda Motor Company in 2022, is integrating high-end gaming with automobile innovation. The company has declared the incorporation of PS Remote Play into the AFEELA, their upcoming battery-electric car.
This industry-first connectivity enables users to stream PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 4 games directly from their home consoles to the AFEELA's cabin. Utilising the vehicle's sophisticated In-Vehicle Infotainment system, passengers may access their complete game library via the car's extensive integrated screens and high-quality music system.
Izumi Kawanishi, Representative Director, President, and COO of SHM, stated, “The implementation of PS Remote Play exemplifies AFEELA’s vision for mobility: converting the travel experience into an engaging and emotive environment.” This function aims to substantially improve the transit experience, either by amusing passengers throughout extended journeys or engaging the driver during a charging pause.
As SHM anticipates the future of mobility, the AFEELA 1 is designated to be the brand's first production model. The initial deliveries of the AFEELA 1 are anticipated to reach California in 2026, signifying a new epoch in which the driveway transforms into an extension of the living room.
