Following a quiet interval characterised by individual member activities and international tours, BLACKPINK is set to reconvene as a whole ensemble. YG Entertainment stated on Wednesday that the K-pop sensation will release their third mini-album, DEADLINE, on February 27. This signifies the quartet's inaugural big endeavour since 2022's BORN PINK, concluding a break of three years and five months, although the group made a brief return with the digital single "JUMP" in July.

The album is titled after the group's current global tour, closely connecting the new songs to their live heritage. The agency reported that production, encompassing the music video, was finalised ahead of schedule. “We express our sincere gratitude to fans for their patience,” YG stated, vowing to “reward that trust with music of the utmost quality.” The revealed visuals employ the group's distinctive colour palette to indicate the commencement of comprehensive promotions.

BLACKPINK's resurgence heralds a significant spring for K-pop. Prior to the album's release, the trio will finish their world tour with a performance at Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Stadium from January 24 to January 26. Deadline is scheduled for release on February 27.
