In anticipation of the forthcoming Lunar New Year, Chopard unveils its latest L.U.C XP Urushi model featuring the Chinese zodiac sign of the year: the dragon.

The L.U.C XP Urushi series was initially introduced in 2013 with a Year of the Snake edition. The recent revelation completes the series with all 12 zodiac signs, each embellished with traditional Japanese Maki-e lacquerwork. Each instance of this unique clock features an intricately sculpted dragon motif that requires a minimum of 20 hours to hand-finish by master artisan Minori Koizumi. To maintain an unimpeded view of the exquisite artistic design on the dial, the watch face features simply a pair of gilded Dauphine hands and a discreet Chopard emblem.

The watch features a slender profile and refined dimensions, measuring only 6.8mm in thickness and nearly 40mm in case diameter. Composed of 18-carat ethical rose gold, the proprietary L.U.C 96.17 movement provides a 65-hour power reserve and is observable through a transparent caseback.

The L.U.C XP Urushi Year of the Dragon watch, a limited edition of 88 units, is priced at 26,600 CHF (about $31,275 USD). Consult Chopard's official website for further information.
