The Chanel fall/winter 2025 presentation represented a significant milestone for Dakota Fanning. Although she had previously visited other exhibitions of the fashion house, this marked her inaugural experience in Paris, and witnessing the collection at the Grand Palais was particularly exhilarating. Fanning describes her choice as a more unconventional ensemble than what the actress typically selects, stating, "I wanted to do something to push it a little bit." At Paris Fashion Week, namely at the Chanel presentation, one can afford to take certain risks and engage in unconventional choices compared to usual practices.

The ensemble, a golden crumpled leather jacket adorned with floral embellishments on the pockets and coordinating trousers, originated from the Métiers d’art 2024/25 collection. Fanning complemented her outfit with a metal and strass belt featuring bow embellishments, 18k yellow gold Coco Crush earrings, gold platform heels with a black cap toe—remarked as among the most comfortable she has worn despite their height—and a Chanel purse. “The suit was somewhat striking and audibly pronounced, so I opted for a clean, simple, and effortless hairstyle and makeup,” she says.

Fanning was accompanied in Paris by her closest friend, and the event was the pinnacle of their journey.
