Dua Lipa has released "Training Season," the second track from her next album scheduled for release later this year.
The GRAMMY winner disclosed that the song's inspiration stemmed from a series of unfortunate dates, with her most recent poor date serving as the tipping point. “The following morning, I arrived at the studio to find Caroline and Tobias enquiring about the outcome, and I promptly proclaimed, ‘TRAINING SEASON IS OVER.’ Much like the most enjoyable post-event discussions with friends, we shared numerous laughs, and everything swiftly fell into place from that point onward,” Lipa conveyed in a statement.
“This pertains not only to the frustration of instructing individuals, particularly men, on how to date me appropriately, but also signifies the conclusion of my developmental phase and my personal growth through each experience.” “I have never experienced such confidence, clarity, or empowerment,” she continued. “Although training season may be perpetual for all of us, one begins to appreciate the beauty of discovering a companion to share the experience with.” You cease searching for trainees and instead focus on finding a companion with whom to share your environment and develop together.
The track is accompanied by a music video directed by Vincent Haycock, featuring the artist's voicemail inundated by messages of remorse. She stays unfazed, however, and maintains her solitude while a throng of males attempts to get her attention.
