Kim Kardashian Has Been officially Appointed as a Balenciaga Brand Ambassador

She has been named as the newest brand ambassador for Balenciaga.

The reality television star has consistently showcased Demna’s ironic designs: she has co-starred in several of the House’s advertisements, attended its catwalk presentations, participated in the House’s 51st Couture show, and accompanied the designer to the 2021 Met Gala. However, she is now formalizing the connection. Kardashian stated, “For several years, Balenciaga’s designs have been integral to my numerous looks and some of my most iconic fashion moments.” This renowned fashion brand integrates modernity and craftsmanship while adopting an original design approach under Demna. This enduring partnership is founded on reciprocal trust and a dedication to ethical conduct. I am enthusiastic about this forthcoming phase for the brand and my role as their ambassador.

Kardashian's affiliation with the House has not consistently been harmonious. In November of the previous year, Balenciaga was embroiled in controversy due to two contentious campaigns: one featuring youngsters with BDSM-themed teddy bear backpacks and another incorporating Supreme Court records related to child pornography legislation. Kardashian indicated that she was "reevaluating [her] relationship with the brand" at that time.

“As a mother of four, I have been profoundly unsettled by the distressing images,” she stated. The safety of children must be prioritized, and any efforts to normalize child abuse in any form should be unequivocally rejected in our culture. She acknowledged the brand's efforts to rectify the situation: “I appreciate Balenciaga’s withdrawal of the campaigns and their apology.” In my discussions with them, I am confident they comprehend the gravity of the situation and will implement the requisite actions to prevent its recurrence.

Notwithstanding her reservations regarding the disparaging 2022 campaign, Kardashian confidently emerged from her Escalade in December, accompanied by her sister Kendall Jenner, to locate her seat at Balenciaga’s Fall 2024 fashion show in Los Angeles.
