This year marks a significant anniversary for the LV Monogram.
130 years of the Louis Vuitton Monogram. This not only attests to Louis Vuitton's brand dominance over the past century but also reflects LV's status as a global cultural force. Characters 'L' and 'V'. Consolidated. The LV Monogram, arguably the luxury monogram pattern that initiated the Logomania phenomenon since American couturier Dapper Dan's designs emerged in Harlem during the 1980s, has transcended mere apparel to adorn skateboards, glassware, and various paraphernalia, maintaining its relevance annually since its inception. It is undeniably a quintessential illustration of pop culture.
In celebration of the festivities, Louis Vuitton revisits its origins with three new capsule collections that pay homage to the tradition of the distinctive Monogram. The Monogram Origine, VVN, and Time Trunk anniversary collections are designed to explore Louis Vuitton's legacy while incorporating elements of the future. Here is a concise summary of the three:

Monogram Origin
The Monogram Origine is a distinctive collection of trunks and bags that reinterprets the original 1896 pattern using a novel linen and cotton blend canvas weave. The legendary Speedy, Alma, and Neverfull handbags receive a new canvas coating technique, along with many new brown and pastel colour variations.

VVN
The VVN line, an abbreviation for Vache Végétale Naturelle, represents an inversion of the traditional Monogram bag by utilising leather typically reserved for trim as the principal material. This handbag is crafted from natural, raw leather that acquires a unique patina with age.

Time Trunk
The Time Trunk collection employs trompe-l’oeil techniques to replicate the weathered textures and metallic hardware of classic Louis Vuitton trunks on models including the Speedy 30 Soft, Noé, and Alma GM. The collection first premiered at Nicolas Ghesquière’s Fall 2018 womenswear presentation and reemerged for Fall 2024 to commemorate his tenth anniversary with the brand. The collection represents Louis Vuitton's continuous discourse between tradition and modernity.
The LV Monogram is anticipated to achieve even greater prominence next year, marking merely the initial chapter of the Maison's plans.
