On May 27, in the remnants of the Castell de Bellver in Mallorca, Louis Vuitton revealed its latest "Virtuosity" high jewelry line. Models exhibited all 110 unique pieces of the collection, adorned in gowns designed by creative director Nicolas Ghesquière. They circumnavigated the runway of the 14th-century castle at dusk, as guests observed from candlelight tables, accompanied by a live orchestra that provided the evening's soundtrack.

The collection focuses on two concepts: mastery and innovation, both examined through the perspective of the house's codes. Superb craftsmanship is apparent in the manner chokers seem to flow with the contours of the body, while artistry is evident in the interplay between exquisite jewels and unique settings. Upon closer examination, the trademark shapes and motifs of Louis Vuitton are evident throughout.

A necklace reflects on the triangle, an old emblem of wisdom and a preferred form of the maison—similar to the angular corners of the distinctive trunks. Positioned beneath a series of emeralds, a 30.56ct triangle-cut Australian black opal is situated atop an exquisite 28.01ct emerald drop. The art-deco composition required 1,500 hours to complete. A distinct, high-collared necklace required 2,730 hours to complete. A combination of white and yellow gold, together with two Louis Vuitton high jewelry signatures, features 2,500 diamonds arranged in the brand's distinctive V, chevron, and Damier motifs. A trio of rare Colombian emeralds, with an 8.88-carat stone, adorns its front.

A necklace named “Eternal Sun,” composed of yellow gold and diamonds, concluded a display of opulence. The 27 flawlessly matching diamonds, which required Louis Vuitton seven years to procure, astonished the crowd. Shimmering from atop the 14-carat yellow diamond drop? A 3.88-carat white diamond, fashioned in the LV-monogram star shape.
