In the wake of the departure of long-serving creative director Francesco Risso, Marni has formally appointed Belgian designer Meryll Rogge to lead the Italian fashion house.

The 2025 ANDAM Grand Prize recipient was educated at the Royal Academy of Antwerp and has previously occupied design roles at Marc Jacobs and Dries Van Noten. In an official statement, Rogge expressed her honor in joining Marni, a brand she has "long admired for its independent spirit." “Assuming a role defined by such visionary creative directors is both humbling and inspiring,” she remarked.

Since establishing her namesake business in 2020, Rogge has exhibited her designs in Paris, demonstrating a unique aesthetic defined by retro whimsy and modern craftsmanship. Business of Fashion reports that panel member Sidney Toledano praised her "innovative interpretation of femininity infused with modernity and practicality."

“We encountered numerous exceptionally qualified candidates, affirming Marni's ongoing ability to inspire and draw creatives globally.” Renzo Rosso, chairman of OTB, stated, "Meryll impressed us with her sensitivity in reinterpreting the brand’s DNA, presenting a contemporary vision that encompasses Marni globally and across all its facets — including accessories, interior design, communication, and special projects."
