Michelle Yeoh is the Newest Brand Ambassador for Balenciaga

Michelle Yeoh, an actor, producer, and martial artist, has been formally appointed as the latest brand ambassador for Balenciaga.

In her new position, the esteemed multi-hyphenate, who has an established affiliation with the Parisian fashion house, will represent the Demna-led brand at significant events and feature in the label’s promotional visuals.

“I am exhilarated to become a brand ambassador for Balenciaga,” stated Yeoh in a declaration. “To me, fashion constitutes a medium of artistic expression.” It beyond mere attire; it encompasses self-expression, the emotions evoked by the garment, and the principles represented when adorned in it; it serves as a medium to convey my professional identity and personal essence to the world. Donning Balenciaga enhances my appreciation for the artistry and craftsmanship inherent in each creation. The brand encapsulates creativity and relevance while consistently honoring its roots as a couture atelier. It is a privilege to collaborate with Balenciaga.

In honor of Yeoh’s ambassadorship, Balenciaga engaged British documentary photographer Platon, renowned for capturing fashion's revolutionaries and having previously photographed established ambassadors Isabelle Huppert and PP Krit Amnuaydechkorn, to create a portrait of the actress.

Yeoh, the inaugural Asian woman to receive the Academy Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of the distressed Evelyn Wang in Everything Everywhere All at Once, recently donned Balenciaga couture at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. She accepted the Women in Motion Prize for her contributions to cinema and her capacity to inspire future generations of talent at the Kering Women in Motion Dinner. Yeoh will continue to wear the brand's apparel at forthcoming significant industry events in her new ambassadorial capacity.
