Pharrell Williams persists in demonstrating his affinity for water with the second release of his collaboration with Tiffany & Co.

When Tiffany & Co. unveiled the Tiffany Titan collection by Pharrell Williams in May, it did not seem to embody Williams' spirit. Do not be misled—the initial drop showcased an exceptional exhibition of creativity in jewelry creation. The spear-shaped links represent a suitable evolution of the gold chains used by rappers since the 1980s, and Williams' conceptualization of this under the Tiffany brand is significant. However, something seemed incongruous.

Williams exemplifies a genuine multi-hyphenate. He is a Grammy-winning artist and producer, a designer, a co-founder of the streetwear brand Billionaire Boys Club and its sub-labels, and the men's creative director for Louis Vuitton. Moreover, Williams is a fashion icon in his own right, possessing a distinctive style that frequently precedes him. The man possesses considerable knowledge of accessorizing and is seldom observed without one or more necklaces. However, his affinity for pearls has consistently remained a hallmark. Whether a modest strand of nacre or a complex, multi-layered showpiece piece from Chanel, Williams wears them with effortless ease.

The latest release of Tiffany Titan by Pharrell Williams is, in contrast, more representative of Williams than its initial launch, featuring the addition of freshwater pearls. Furthermore, let us not overlook diamonds.

"The collection's inspiration stems from my connection to water; the name 'Titan' is derived from Poseidon, the sovereign of the sea and King of Atlantis." Williams elucidates that 'Atlantis' is the designation of the town in where he was raised in Virginia Beach. “In Japan, it was believed that pearls originated from the tears of mythical aquatic beings; thus, I was naturally drawn to them as a means of articulating this connection to water.”

High-lustre freshwater pearls exceeding 11mm embellish each piece, imparting sophistication and enhanced refinement to the collection. The dimensions of the pearls unequivocally indicate that these recent designs are intended to make bold statements. Even in its most basic form—a pendant showcasing a solitary ball presumably penetrated by the collection's spear-shaped symbol adorned with diamonds and suspended on an adjustable gold chain—the jewelry would undoubtedly capture attention.

Pearls are undeniably the focal point. The collection's bracelet and necklace include alternating pearls and gold spike rondelles instead of spear-shaped links; each piece is secured by a clasp comprising three spear-shaped links, with the central link adorned with diamonds.

This new design presents a harmonic juxtaposition. They juxtapose one another. The spear is audacious and intrepid, while the pearls are delicate and invaluable; yet, they complement each other flawlessly. “They appear to be safeguarding one another,” states Williams. One may assert the same regarding Williams—a figure characterized by perpetual contrast in many fields and personal aesthetics. As he stated, this iteration fits flawlessly.
