Saint Laurent is reintroducing original furniture designs by Charlotte Perriand at the Salone del Mobile in Milan next month.
The show, titled Saint Laurent — Charlotte Perrian, will feature four works by the late French architect and designer, created between 1943 and 1967. Chosen by Anthony Vaccarello, the creative director of Saint Laurent, each item will be produced on a made-to-order basis.

Perriand’s Rio de Janeiro bookcase, created for her second husband, Jacques Martin, in 1962, has been seen only three times in the past 25 years. The Indochina guest armchair (1943) was precisely reproduced by Saint Laurent from a drawing, as the original was lost.
The Mille-feuilles table, designed in 1963, initially existed as a "reduced-scale model" due to the complexity of its construction, which had 10 layers of two distinct types of wood. The show concludes with a sofa designed by Perriand for the Japanese ambassador's residence in Paris in 1967.

The collaboration between Saint Laurent and Charlotte Perriand exemplifies the brand's enduring dedication to legacy, seeking to present significant design artifacts—previously concealed in inaccessible collections—to a broader audience, as stated by the company to WWD.

“It also pays tribute to Yves Saint Laurent’s reverence for Perriand’s oeuvre, whose unadulterated modernity resonated with his own designs.” He amassed her designs over his lifetime, while Pierre Bergé facilitated significant international retrospectives of her oeuvre.
The renewed collaboration between Saint Laurent and Charlotte Periand will be shown at the Padiglione Visconti in Milan from April 8 to 13.
