Starbucks Japan Introduces Matcha Menu Offerings for the New Year

Starbucks Japan is celebrating the new year with exclusive matcha menu offerings.

The initial offering is a matcha and cream roll cake, substituting the conventional mochi, crafted with plant-based components. The Matcha Cream Doughnut, which is both dipped and packed with the bittersweet flavour, and the Matcha Butter Sandwich are both returning. The concluding product includes salted butter and matcha-infused red bean paste, available only at select drive-thru locations.

The confections can be complemented by the forthcoming sticky rice and roasted green tea Frappuccino, which is reported to possess a mochi-like texture.

The matcha menu items became available at Starbucks Japan locations on December 26.
