The ring was sold for over three times its initial appraisal.

A ring worn by Tupac Shakur during his last public appearance prior to his death has been auctioned for $1,000,000. The auction, organised by Sotheby’s, celebrated the 50th anniversary of hip-hop music's beginnings. Yaasmyn Fula, Shakur's godmother, donated the ring to the New York auction.
In 1996, Shakur personally crafted the ring to commemorate a freshly established record contract with Death Row Records. He donned it that same year at the MTV Video Music Awards, the final occasion he was publicly observed before succumbing to a tragic shooting.
The gem-encrusted ring features the words “Pac & Dada 1996,” alluding to his engagement with Kidada Jones, the offspring of Quincy Jones and Peggy Lipton.
Sotheby’s anticipated the ring would sell for $300,000 USD, although it ultimately surpassed expectations with a bid of $1,000,000. The identity of the purchaser was not disclosed.
