With clear casings and vibrant tones, the lineup fuses nostalgic formats with a more expressive, design-forward approach.

The Japanese audio firm km5 is connecting auditory and visual experiences with their striking new "Neon Collection." The firm, famous for integrating audio equipment with fashion and interior design, has refreshed its minimalist collection with vibrant colours and bold transparent materials. Through the amalgamation of transparent casings and neon aesthetics, km5 has effectively transformed conventional CD players and headphones from just auditory instruments into striking visual artefacts.
A notable addition to the new lineup is the eagerly awaited “Clear” model of the Cp2, a CD player featuring an integrated speaker. This model, priced at 25,300 yen, eliminates the opaque exterior covering to elegantly showcase its inside circuit boards and mechanical framework, converting the functioning device into a captivating work of contemporary art.

The regular Cp1 player is available in an eye-catching Neon Yellow (20,900 yen) and a flawless Clear (22,000 yen) for individuals who like to showcase their CD sleeves as art. The Neon Yellow version imparts a sleek, avant-garde aesthetic to any space, generating a compelling optical illusion in which the device's frame seems to emanate light. The range additionally encompasses wearable technology, namely the Hp1 lightweight headphones. The headphones now showcase a translucent finish with lime yellow earpads, seamlessly enhancing modern streetwear and tech-wear styles. km5 enhances personalisation by providing independent felt earpads (1,980 yen) in vivid colours such as Turquoise Blue, Carmine, and Lime Yellow, enabling users to tailor their audio equipment to reflect their mood. Supplementary accessories, such as an elegant charging stand and glass cases, enhance the integrated environment.
The km5 “Neon Collection” is now officially available at select retail locations in Japan, including BEAMS CULTUART Takanawa, BEAMS Men Shibuya, and BEAMS Ginza.
