Filmmaker Alex Gibney has finalized his documentary, Musk, which provides an intimate and candid examination of the life and work of Elon Musk, a prominent and contentious character of our era. The film is scheduled for theatrical release in the U.S. by Bleecker Street in the forthcoming months, providing audiences with a unique, cinematic perspective on the individual behind SpaceX, Tesla, and X.

The film is an observational documentary, featuring Gibney’s camera tracking Musk as he maneuvers through the turbulent realm of technology and influence. It provides a novel viewpoint on the entrepreneur, examining his personal life and audacious vision for the future of humanity. The video examines his contentious business choices and his frequently strained relationship with the media. Kent Sanderson, CEO of Bleecker Street, stated, “No biographical portrayal, aside from prominent political figures, has focused on an individual so pivotal to our society as Elon Musk.” However, I cannot envision another filmmaker capable of presenting that narrative to audiences with greater clarity, daring, and urgency than Alex Gibney.

Gibney, an Oscar-winning filmmaker renowned for his insightful films on personalities such as Steve Jobs and Enron, is a consummate artist, and his next film is expected to deliver an equally penetrating and illuminating portrayal. The film is a notable release for Bleecker Street, with the documentary set to premiere in cinemas before its availability on HBO Max.
