Apple launched an enhanced version of its MagSafe charging puck a year ago, capable of wirelessly charging the newly released iPhone 16 series at accelerated 25W rates. Nevertheless, when utilized with other devices, including previous iPhone models, charging rates were restricted to 15W and lower. A new iteration of Apple’s MagSafe Charger has been released, and similar to the iPhone 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max, it now fully complies with the Qi2.2 standard, enabling it to charge other compatible devices, like as the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL, at a rate of 25W, as reported by MacRumors and 9to5Mac.

The recently unveiled charger, initially disclosed last June via Taiwan’s National Communications Commission website, is now accessible on Apple’s online store, priced at $39 for a 1-meter USB-C cable and $49 for a 2-meter connection.

Apple launched 25W wireless charging with the iPhone 16 prior to the formal introduction of the Qi2.2 specification earlier this year, which is why the accelerated charging rate was exclusively available with Apple’s proprietary wireless charger. The iPhone 17 series is now compatible with Qi 2.2, and the majority of the iPhone 16 lineup will also be compatible upon the release of iOS 26, allowing the devices to charge at 25W using any wireless charger that supports Qi 2.2. However, after upgrading to the iPhone Air, the maximum wireless charging rate will be limited to 20W.
