Audio-Technica has introduced the AT-LP7X, a fully manual belt-drive turntable designed for vinyl aficionados who appreciate meticulous engineering and a minimalist aesthetic. The AT-LP7X, an evolution of the successful 2019 AT-LP7, serves as a performance-oriented alternative to direct-drive systems. The construction includes a 40mm MDF plinth with a matte black finish and a 20mm anti-resonance acrylic platter, designed to reduce mechanical noise and provide stable record playing.

The AT-LP7X features a J-shaped aluminium tonearm, reminiscent of Audio-Technica's iconic designs from the 1960s and 1970s. The tonearm utilises a dual-axis gimbal with precision ball bearings to improve tracking accuracy and stability. The AT-VM95E BK cartridge, with a 0.3 x 0.7 mil elliptical stylus, is pre-mounted on the lightweight AT-LT10 headshell, providing exceptional channel separation and sonic clarity. The cartridge is entirely compatible with the VM95 series, enabling users to enhance or explore various styli. The adjustable vertical tracking angle (VTA) and supplied subcounterweights enhance compatibility with various cartridges and headshells, rendering the AT-LP7X a versatile option for audiophiles.

Further enhancements comprise spring-loaded vibration-dampening feet and an external power source, both intended to mitigate undesirable resonance and electronic interference. The turntable is pre-installed with the AT-VM95E Dual Moving Magnet cartridge on the new AT-LT10 headshell, guaranteeing immediate functionality and facilitating future stylus enhancements. The AT-LP7X is currently available via Audio-Technica and select retailers, priced at $999 USD, providing a superior and versatile platform for high-fidelity vinyl playback.
