Cambridge Audio has introduced its newest line of active loudspeakers, the “L/R Series” — a trio engineered to provide high-performance audio for diverse everyday environments. Designed and calibrated in London, the collection presents three new models in varying sizes: “L/R S,” “L/R M,” and “L/R X,” arranged from smallest to largest.

The boutique British audio firm announced at this year's CES tradeshow in Las Vegas that its new L/R line signifies a new chapter, aiming to integrate its heritage sonic expertise with a more lifestyle-oriented design language.

Positioned at the pinnacle of the spectrum, the L/R X produces 800W of total power with a 2.5-way acoustic configuration (400W per speaker, equating to the combined equivalent of "1 horsepower," as stated by the manufacturer), integrating their unique 28mm Torus tweeter with dual woofers and force-canceling passive radiators. It facilitates StreamMagic Wi-Fi streaming (via a companion application), HDMI eARC for television audio, wireless speaker-to-speaker communication via WiSA HT, and includes an integrated MM phono stage for turntables. The mid-sized L/R M retains much of the same technology in a more compact configuration, providing 300W of system power along with identical streaming and connectivity functions. The smallest model in the series is the L/R S, a Bluetooth-centric choice intended for desks and compact spaces, providing 100W of power along with placement optimisation controls.

All three models are available in six finishes: Blue, Green, Orange, Black, White, and Real Walnut veneer, and incorporate Cambridge Audio’s distinctive “floating” base. The L/R X and L/R M incorporate discreet white underlighting with adjustable warmth and luminosity.

The Cambridge Audio L/R Series is scheduled for release in late 2026 on the brand's website, with prices commencing at £399 GBP (about $540 USD, with official U.S. pricing to be announced later).
