Cometa's M2 signifies the brand's audacious foray into premium audio, combining Swiss precision with Californian artistry. Developed in collaboration with experienced engineers, renowned DJs, and the late Barry Bialos, whose expertise in rotary gain circuits informed its design, the M2 addresses a persistent need as a rotary club mixer, home-blending preamplifier, and active listening platform in a single unit.

The M2 is designed to excel in both nightclubs and home spaces, incorporating Class A discrete phone and line preamps, comprehensive aux sends, switchable mic and headphone routing, and transformer-balanced outputs for effortless integration. “Our objective was not merely to construct a DJ mixer; rather, we aimed to develop the most sophisticated rotary club mixer, home-blending preamplifier, and active listening platform simultaneously,” elucidates Cometa’s inventor, Spencer Velasquez.

The M2 features a matte-black chassis with polished metal accents, encouraging tactile interaction at every angle. The entirely Class-A analog circuitry and patented signal path provide ultra-low noise, maximum headroom, and a warm, transparent output. Audiophile-quality Cinemag transformers and WIMA film capacitors enhance acoustic clarity, while a 390-LED, high-resolution VU meter provides instantaneous feedback. Ergonomic, manually operated knobs with orientation indicators provide tactile mixing without visual assistance, especially in low-light club environments.

The M2 synthesizes influences from old recording consoles, early discothèque controls, and Italian sports vehicles, merging performance with sculptural elegance. The M2's essence originates from a passion for machines that inspires human interaction, states the brand's CMO, Loren Granich, in an interview with Hypebeast. “Following the development of numerous prototypes, we have achieved a high-performance club weapon that is sufficiently refined for the most prestigious listening environments.”

The Founder’s Edition, with a numbered nameplate and already endorsed by selectors such as DJ Harvey, Paramida, and 2manydjs, is available for pre-order at $9,999 USD, while subsequent editions will be priced at $12,999 USD. For additional information, see the brand's official website.
