A compact yet multifunctional gadget with integrated access to Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, and many services.

Dangbei has significantly impacted the projector industry, having introduced the world's inaugural officially Netflix-licensed 4K laser projector last year. Recently, the business launched the Dangbei N2 small – a portable projector that contrasts sharply with its flagship Mars Pro 2, differing significantly in both dimensions and cost – thereby providing an affordably priced yet feature-laden alternative to its expanding collection.
The Dangbei N2 tiny is among the brand's most compact projectors, weighing approximately 3.8 pounds and measuring around 9.5 inches in height. Despite its diminutive dimensions, it encompasses an unexpected array of capabilities and functionalities, including Dangbei’s proprietary, AI-driven InstanPro technology, identical to that in its larger and more costly models.
In contrast to Dangbei's other models, the N2 Mini operates on a Linux-based smart operating system instead of Google's Android TV. A probable rationale for this is to circumvent Google's expensive licensing fees, a choice apparently aimed at maintaining the projector's affordability. It is important to emphasize that this does not compromise features or functionality. Although its interface is uncomplicated, the Linux-based operating system (OS) is user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing, and it is equipped with officially licensed applications such as Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube. The projector's remote features dedicated buttons that enable the launch of various apps with a single click. Dangbei claims that over 300 supplementary apps may be downloaded into the device; however, these do not own dedicated buttons on the remote.

The primary component of the N2 small, the projector itself, is mounted on a pedestal that functions as a gimbal, providing users with 190° of integrated tilt choices, including ceiling projection. The N2 consistently embodies simplicity, with the gimbal maneuvered by gently pressing in the desired direction; it lacks a locking mechanism, instead maintaining its position autonomously.
The Dangbei N2 small delivers native 1080p graphics in sizes ranging from 40 to 120 inches, with a maximum brightness of 200 lumens. Although this may not appear favorable in theory, it functions remarkably well in daylight and thrives in smaller, dimly lit environments—consider evenings and areas with closed curtains. Furthermore, the included InstanPro technology enables the mini to autonomously resize and align the image for optimal viewing, while providing automated focus and keystone correction.
Connectivity options are Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6, with input ports featuring one HDMI and one USB-A 2.0. The device features a 3.5mm audio output, enabling users to attach headphones or cable speakers if the integrated six-watt speakers are insufficient. Despite its unassuming audio hardware, the N2 is compatible with Dolby Audio, Dolby Digital, and Dolby Digital Plus.
The Dangbei N2 small is currently available for purchase on the brand's website and at select shops, priced at £199 GBP, $229 USD, or €279 EUR.
