Elon Musk has said that his brain chip enterprise, Neuralink, has successfully implanted its gadget in a second patient. The chip enables persons with spinal cord damage to manage digital gadgets exclusively with their thoughts.

During his appearance on computer scientist Lex Fridman's podcast, Musk disclosed that the implantation had occurred. The precise date of the treatment was not disclosed; nevertheless, the patient was characterized as a guy who sustained paralysis from a diving accident.

“I hesitate to tempt fate, but the second implant appears to have been remarkably successful,” he stated. “There is an abundance of signals and numerous electrodes.” It is functioning exceptionally well.

Noland Arbaugh, Neuralink's inaugural patient, participated in the podcast and discussed how the implant has enabled him to control a computer cursor with his thoughts, thereby diminishing his dependence on caregivers. Arbaugh underwent implantation in January following the company's receipt of FDA approval to initiate clinical studies.

Musk announced that Neuralink intends to implant the chip in an additional eight patients this year as part of its testing.
