The French luxury audio manufacturer, Focal, has introduced Bathys MG – a collection of premium, high-fidelity headphones that signify a progression in its wireless headphone lineup.

The new Bathys MG headphones are available in a warm chestnut brown, a hue influenced by another of the brand's renowned models, the Clear MG. Focal has utilized high-quality genuine leather for the headbands and ergonomic foam for the earpads to ensure optimal comfort, while the majority of the frame is constructed from aluminum and robust magnesium yoke.

Focal has discovered additional applications for magnesium, utilizing the metal in the fabrication of the headphones' bespoke speaker drivers. Manufactured in France, these drivers incorporate 'M'-shaped domes, which the brand claims enable users to experience "natural, dynamic, and exceptionally detailed" high-fidelity sound wirelessly. Focal has incorporated active noise cancellation (ANC) in the Bathys MG to merge superior audiophile-grade sound with a more immersive experience through ANC.

The headphones utilize Bluetooth 5.2 and incorporate multipoint connectivity. When utilized wirelessly, consumers can anticipate a battery life of 30 hours, which can be enhanced to 42 hours in wired USB-DAC mode. They may be rapidly charged, with a 15-minute charge yielding five hours of playing. Supported codecs are SBC, AAC, aptX Adaptive, and aptX. Weighing about 350g, Focal provides a tonal robust carrying case (available in chestnut brown) to ensure their protection throughout travel.

Focal's Bathys MG headphones will be released in April, with a price of £999 GBP / $1,299 USD.
