Instagram's Latest Feature Functions as a 'Digital Business Card' for Your Profile

Instagram is facilitating the sharing of user profiles. The application has included profile cards, which effectively serve as digital business cards for user handles.

Each card displays the user's handle, profile photograph, biography, and an optional song. The reverse side of the card displays a QR code superimposed on a custom background. Fellow Instagram users can then scan the code to be taken to their profile.

Users may personalize the information on their cards by navigating to their profile and selecting the “Share Profile” option. A movie including the card is available for download, enabling users to promote their Instagram profile across several social media.

Instagram has provided QR codes for profile sharing for over five years; however, the new feature incorporates additional information and context for the users being added.
