Apple is officially enhancing its most popular everyday laptop with the launch of the new MacBook Air featuring the M5 chip. The latest edition is designed to enhance portable computing, offering outstanding performance and augmented on-device AI capabilities within a characteristic thin and lightweight aluminium chassis.

The core of the new MacBook Air is Apple's M5 technology. The innovative technology incorporates a 10-core CPU paired with a next-generation GPU, each core equipped with a robust Neural Accelerator. This substantial computational enhancement provides up to four times the performance for AI operations relative to the M4 model, enabling users to seamlessly execute intricate creative projects and extensive language models entirely on the device.

In addition to sheer processing capability, the laptops are designed to improve daily functionality and accelerate workflow efficiency. The latest MacBook Air now features a base storage capacity of 512GB, supported by an accelerated SSD that offers twice the read and write speeds of its predecessor. The integration of Apple’s N1 wireless processor significantly enhances connectivity, facilitating Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 for uninterrupted performance when mobile. The high-end hardware is complemented by a battery life of up to 18 hours, a 12MP Center Stage camera with Desk View capability, and an immersive audio system with Spatial Audio technology. The models are available in four distinctive colour variations: sky blue, midnight, starlight, and silver.
