A nostalgic exterior conceals serious, game-ready performance.

Maingear's Retro98 gaming desktop is officially launched, designed to evoke nostalgia for the Quake era with its finely constructed beige chassis. The new version, crafted to reflect the looks of 1998, integrates vintage computing allure with the most advanced PC components accessible today. The line features a "Retro" theme that conceals current I/O ports behind a magnetic branding plate, while preserving the tactile essence of traditional desktop towers.
The Retro98 is a specialised version of the MG-1 platform, constructed using the SilverStone FLP02 tower casing. The exterior features a period-appropriate beige paint and an LED fan-speed display that reflects late twentieth-century hardware. The premier Alpha configuration has an open-loop liquid cooling system to regulate the temperatures of advanced components, including 64GB of Kingston FURY RAM and 4TB of NVMe Gen5 SSD storage.
Notwithstanding its retro aesthetic, the system is designed for modern AAA games. The base models have an Intel Core Ultra 7 265K and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070, guaranteeing that the nostalgia is confined solely to the visual aspect. Every machine is meticulously hand-assembled in the United States and has exemplary cable management along with a Windows installation devoid of unnecessary software, which has established the boutique builder's esteemed reputation.
