Future devices may supplant conventional screens with eyewear and wristbands.

Mark Zuckerberg has released a new letter detailing Meta's goal for developing "personal superintelligence," an AI vision focused on empowering individuals rather than automating all tasks. Zuckerberg asserts that initial indications of AI systems enhancing their own capabilities are evident, deeming the advent of superintelligence "within reach."
Zuckerberg envisions a future where individuals possess AI assistants that are intricately aligned with their objectives, values, and circumstances, rather than centralizing AI for widespread automation; these assistants would be available via commonplace gadgets such as smart glasses. He contends that this will signify a significant societal transformation, empowering individuals to create, explore, and develop.
Zuckerberg differentiates Meta's strategy from that of other technology companies that saw superintelligence as a mechanism for generating universal output and serving humanity. Meta, he asserts, is dedicated to developing tools that assist individuals in achieving personal ambitions, perpetuating the historical trend in which technology has enhanced creativity, health, science, and interpersonal connections.
He recognizes that AI safety will be paramount and proposes that Meta will exercise caution in determining which elements to open source. As the remainder of the decade is poised to influence the future of AI, Zuckerberg intends to establish Meta as dedicated to providing superintelligence at scale—designed for individuals, not solely for productivity.
