The system combines a hand-crafted steel cube (manufactured in Sweden) with a wooden speaker cube (constructed in Estonia).

Nocs has unveiled Braque, a novel dynamic stereo system that combines artistic design with meticulous audio engineering. Conceived at Studio D A and engineered at the Nocs Lab, the system is named after Georges Braque, the Cubist master renowned for his exploration of geometry, duality, and form reduction.
The visual focal point of the system is its layered architecture: two cubes functioning as a unified instrument. This solid, symmetrical configuration comprises a hand-cut, welded, and brushed steel cube from Sweden, coupled with a plywood speaker cube fabricated in Estonia. This design positions the speakers at an optimal listening height for a distinct, concentrated stereo field.
“Braque pertains to spatial dimensions – both physical and auditory.” Daniel Alm stated, "By utilising a larger enclosure and a coaxial driver, we successfully crafted a sound that is natural, open, and authentic." “It discloses the content of the recording without introducing any extraneous elements, which is fundamental to our Studio Sound methodology.”
He stated, “Braque presents new opportunities for us.” Due to its design and weight distribution, it can be positioned in many orientations - on a stand, suspended, or incorporated into an environment. I am interested in examining its functionality in larger works and contexts.
The Braque is equipped with two Celestion FTX0820 coaxial speakers and dual Hypex FA122 amplifier modules. The final adjustments are conducted in the Nocs Lab in Sweden to maintain the fidelity of the original recordings. This device accommodates both traditional and contemporary configurations, with an extensive array of analogue and digital inputs, including Stereo RCA, Balanced XLR, Optical (TOSLINK), and Coaxial digital.
The system will be manufactured in limited editions, priced at €6000 EUR and $6000 USD. Availability commences in January 2026.
