By 2025, mobile gaming has evolved beyond simple mechanics such as launching birds or matching candies, advancing from the rudimentary tap-and-swipe interface of previous years. Purpose-built devices, such as the RedMagic 10 Pro, now offer desktop-level performance in a portable format, enabling users to play full-fledged AAA titles anywhere.
The RedMagic 10 Pro is an Android smartphone that encompasses standard features found in contemporary devices, including a vibrant touchscreen with a high refresh rate, contactless payment capabilities, extended battery life, and numerous cameras proficient in recording ultra-high-resolution images and videos. What distinguishes it from the others is its construction with an emphasis on gameplay, resulting in optimization.
It features a 6.80-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, ensuring a seamless scrolling experience for daily activities and ample frames for very smooth gaming. Moreover, it achieves a maximum brightness of 2,000 nits, guaranteeing clarity and visibility in direct sunlight, thereby aligning it with other top devices such as Apple's iPhone 16 Pro Max. In contrast to the iPhone, the RedMagic 10 Pro features a notch-free display, concealing the selfie camera beneath the screen to ensure an uninterrupted gaming experience for customers.
The RedMagic 10 Pro is equipped with one of the premier chipsets available, with Qualcomm's flagship mobile CPU, the Snapdragon 8 Elite, at its core. With up to 24GB of RAM (depending on the model type), the RedMagic 10 Pro is positioned among the most powerful smartphones available, excelling particularly in its primary purpose: gaming.
The RedMagic 10 Pro is powered by Qualcomm's premier Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, one of the most sophisticated mobile processors currently on the market. Equipped with up to 24GB of RAM (depending on the variant), the 10 Pro is firmly established as one of the most performance-oriented smartphones available, particularly for gaming. The 10 Pro adeptly manages even the most resource-intensive Android games, executing titles such as Genshin Impact—known for its substantial CPU and GPU demands—smoothly at elevated frame rates with little performance fluctuations. The strength of the Snapdragon CPU, along with the substantial RAM provided by RedMagic, renders the 10 Pro an optimal device for emulation. Users can anticipate seamless operation of many emulators with near-optimal performance for consoles such as Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 3, in addition to the PC emulator Winlator, hence enabling the possibility of carrying extensive game libraries conveniently.
The RedMagic 10 Pro includes gamer-centric features absent in other smartphones, such as customizable RGB LED lighting. The 10 Pro prominently has a custom temperature management technology termed ICE-X, which RedMagic characterizes as the "ultimate cooling system." The ICE-X system is essential for maintaining the 10 Pro's elevated performance and assists in regulating the gaming phone's temperature during intense gameplay sessions. It incorporates a 23,000 RPM active fan engineered for low noise operation, utilizing liquid metal thermal conductivity to guarantee effective heat dissipation and "sustained peak performance even during extended gaming sessions," as stated by the manufacturer. Two completely remappable 520Hz "shoulder triggers" function as authentic "L" and "R" buttons, utilizing haptic feedback to offer players an alternative to touchscreen controls, particularly advantageous for first-person shooter games.

The RedMagic 10 Pro is equipped with three cameras: a dual-lens configuration on the rear, consisting of a 50MP wide and a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a single front-facing camera for selfies. Despite RedMagic's successful concealment of its front camera beneath the display, it possesses a mere 2MP resolution, likely representing the phone's most inferior component.
Gaming phones occupy a limited market, with just two primary manufacturers remaining: RedMagic and ASUS. However, with the 10 Pro, RedMagic has successfully provided an extensive array of capabilities at a competitive price.
The RedMagic 10 Pro is now available in multiple finishes and specifications, commencing at £549 GBP / $649 USD.
