Samsung Has Increased The Us Prices Of The Galaxy Z Flip 7, Tab S11, Tab S11 Ultra

As memory shortages and AI infrastructure demand tighten supply, consumer devices begin to reflect broader industry pressures.

Samsung has discreetly altered the pricing framework for a significant segment of its premium mobile range, pressuring buyers seeking advanced storage options. Higher-capacity versions of flagship devices, such as the Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy S25 FE, and Galaxy S25 Edge, have experienced abrupt retail price rises of up to $80 USD. Although the base versions have generally maintained their initial price points, fans pursuing 256GB or 512GB options are encountering increased obstacles to acquisition. The 512GB variant of the renowned folding clamshell has lately ascended to $1,299.99 USD, setting a new benchmark for the brand's foldable lineup. The ultra-premium 1TB variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 has been discreetly increased to an impressive $2,499 USD.

The dramatic pricing modifications extend beyond the smartphone market, imposing even greater surcharges on the company's tablet division. The Galaxy Tab S11 and the enlarged Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra have now seen substantial price increases across all configurations, undermining any recent promotional gains. The 1TB Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra experienced a substantial price hike of $280 USD, raising its retail price to an astonishing $1,899.99 USD. The brand's economical tablets, like the Galaxy Tab S10 FE and the Galaxy Tab A11 Plus, have also seen unannounced overnight price increases. These abrupt price increases are a direct consequence of a global memory scarcity currently unsettling the whole consumer electronics sector. The primary concern is the escalating expense of DDR5 memory and other essential RAM components, intensified by the relentless demand for High Bandwidth Memory necessitated by the burgeoning AI datacenters. As technology producers vie for these dwindling resources, the cost burden is unavoidably transferring to the end customer. Analysts anticipate that excessive component costs will govern the hardware market until global manufacturing increases or datacenter demand diminishes.

Microsoft has recently implemented significant price increases for its current hardware, elevating the base price for both the Surface Pro and Surface Laptop line by hundreds of dollars to counteract identical supply chain challenges. The 11th-generation Surface Pro and 7th-generation Surface Laptop, equipped with Snapdragon X Plus CPUs, now commence at a substantial $1,499 USD — a significant $500 USD increase from their initial launch prices. The ongoing memory issue has no immediate resolution, indicating that the period of stable consumer technology pricing is likely suspended indefinitely.
