Samsung Introduces Ultra-Thin 'Galaxy S25 Edge' Smartphone

Samsung has enhanced its Galaxy S series with the launch of the Galaxy S25 Edge, a new iteration of its flagship Galaxy S25 smartphone, which incorporates numerous same characteristics, like the robust Snapdragon 8 Elite engine, within a more streamlined design.



The South Korean brand characterizes its new item as a "compact smartphone" and "unprecedented". The Galaxy S25 Edge is Samsung's thinnest smartphone to date, measuring only 5.8 millimeters in thickness. The Galaxy S25 Edge has a sophisticated, contemporary design, using a titanium frame, a metal known for its superior strength-to-weight ratio, resulting in a device that is both resilient and remarkably lightweight at merely 163 grams. To enhance the device's durability, Samsung collaborated with materials science firm Corning to incorporate an innovative material for the phone's display: "Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2," which has not previously been utilized in smartphones. This material is characterized by its exceptional durability and "crack deflection capabilities" due to its distinctive composition.

The Galaxy S25 Edge boasts a 6.7-inch dynamic AMOLED 2X display, augmented by Samsung’s own Adaptive Vision Booster technology. The display features a resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels (Quad HD+), situating it between 2K (2048 × 1080 pixels) and 4K (3840 × 2160 pixels) resolutions, and incorporates an adaptive refresh rate varying from 1Hz to 120Hz to enhance battery longevity.



In contrast to the other models in the S25 series, the Edge is equipped with merely two rear cameras: a 200MP primary and a 12MP ultra-wide, which is expected considering its very compact design. It features a 12 MP front-facing selfie camera; nevertheless, it does not include a specialized telephoto camera.



Samsung's Galaxy AI is also incorporated, and the company has asserted that it has been "integrated at nearly every touchpoint," ranging from basic chores to native support in numerous third-party applications.



The Galaxy S25 Edge is currently available in two storage capacities, 256GB and 512GB, and offers a variety of colors such as “Titanium Silver,” “Titanium Jetblack,” and “Titanium Icyblue.” Prices commence at £1,099 GBP / $1,099.99 USD.
