The technology is under development, yet is anticipated to debut at CES 2026.

Last week, during a press junket, Samsung presented a simulated demonstration of the new dynamic HDR format, which encompasses six capabilities akin to those that would be provided by the recently unveiled Dolby Vision 2.

Televisions from Samsung and other compatible manufacturers will enhance picture brightness for 4,000-5,000 nit displays currently available, tailor images to specific genres, regulate motion smoothing levels, optimize visual performance for streamed games, adjust to ambient light conditions, provide refined tone mapping for various screen areas, and offer more accurate color control.

The format requires endorsement from streaming services for viewers to genuinely realize these advantages. Amazon Prime Video has adopted HDR10 Plus; however, given that Netflix and Disney only began supporting the original HDR10 Plus this year, despite its introduction in 2018, it remains to be seen how long it will take for them to incorporate HDR10 Plus Advanced.
