Spotify is augmenting its audiobook collection following an agreement with Bloomsbury, a worldwide publishing firm with locations in the U.S., U.K., Australia, and India. This will augment the library by over 1,000 additional titles, providing users with increased listening options.
Spotify Expands Its Collection of Audiobooks and Narrators
Initially disclosed on Bloomsbury's official blog, this new inclusion follows closely after Spotify unveiled other audiobook features aimed at enhancing the listening experience. In 2022, Spotify introduced a feature that grants Premium subscribers 15 complimentary hours of audiobook listening each month. By utilizing that time, you acquire a 10-hour top-up to initiate a new session or to complete the book you have not yet finished.

Duncan Bruce, Director of Audiobook Partnerships and Licensing at Spotify, stated:
In commemoration of the one-year anniversary of Audiobook in Premium, Duncan Bruce stated that there is no more effective method to enhance our momentum than by incorporating Bloomsbury's esteemed library. This collaboration enables us to enhance our author roster and provide listeners with a broader selection of titles, further our objective of redefining the audiobook experience.
Spotify and Bloomsbury's collaboration will incorporate numerous works from prominent authors like as Sarah J. Maas and Alan Moore, among others. This encompasses literature works for both children and adults, such as the fantasy novel Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, the acclaimed Cuddy by Benjamin Myers, the IPG Audiobook of the Year Ghosts, and Impossible Creatures by Katherine Rundell, which received the Children’s Book of the Year award.
The compilation includes excerpts from non-fiction publications such as Want, Submitted by Anonymous, Collected by Gillian Anderson, as well as contributions by Peter Frankopan, Dan Jones, and others. In addition to these literary classics, Spotify has recruited prominent Hollywood talent, with your favorite books now narrated by Meryl Streep, Emilia Clarke, Adjoa Andoh, and Jamie Lee Curtis.
“We are dedicated to showcasing the creative abilities of our authors and narrators to a wide audience through our mission to inform, educate, entertain, and inspire readers of all ages and backgrounds,” stated Sam Halstead, Director of Audio at Bloomsbury. “We are assured that this collaboration will facilitate the introduction of a new generation of listeners to audiobooks for years ahead.”
Spotify audiobooks are available for free, albeit restricted to public-domain works. In addition, both Free and Premium Spotify customers have the option to get individual audiobooks, enabling them to enjoy select titles without the requirement of a monthly membership.
